Saxdor Yachts Oy comes to life

On 23 October 2019, the mother company of what later becomes the Saxdor Group–Saxdor Yachts Oy–officially enters the Finnish business registry and the history of Saxdor begins.

Elite Shipyard, the subsidiary of Saxdor Group, starts production

November – With less than a dozen of staff, two small offices, and one production hall, Elite Shipyard begins the production of Saxdor’s first boat model, the 200, in Ełk, Poland.

The first Saxdor boat leaves the shipyard

January – After months of design work, testing, implementing, and then testing again, the first Saxdor 200 is finally ready. Boat number #101 is still the property of the company so that in the summer months Saxdor employees can enjoy it on the calm waters of the Masurian Lakes.

Saxdor premieres the 320 GTO model

January – The world becomes acquainted with Saxdor 320 GTO, which in no time becomes the brand’s bestseller.

Saxdor appoints new CEO, Erna Rusi

October – With a strong background in leadership and strategy in international companies, Erna Rusi, Saxdor’s new CEO, brings on board extensive experience in branding, marketing, sales, and business.

Construction of the new production facility begins

November – Saxdor’s multimillion-dollar investment in the new shipyard becomes the talk of the town. Watch out, boatbuilders! If we could rock the industry with products made in rented spaces, wait until you see the first ones coming out of the new production hall.

Elite Shipyard changes its name to Saxdor Shipyard

January – In the spirit of the “One team, one company” slogan, Elite Shipyard becomes history, and Saxdor Shipyard comes to life. What from the outside might have looked like a cosmetic change, was an important step towards creating a unified front as Saxdor Group.

Saxdor Academy comes to life

April – The interest in our educational project, Saxdor Academy, starts on a high note. Through the series of introductory events at elementary schools, we are introducing Elk’s first boatbuilding vocational program to potential candidates and their parents.

1000th boat leaves Saxdor Shipyard

September – Another important milestone is reached. In between hundreds of Saxdor 200s, 320 GTOs, and 320 GTCs, the shipyard’s production comes down to a total of 1000 boats made. We couldn’t be more proud!

Young boat builders start the school year

Saxdor Academy officially welcomes 29 first-year vocational students, who in three years will receive the professional titles of boat makers. Selected classes are taught by the Saxdor staff.

Saxdor premieres the 270 GTO model

September – 2022 Southampton International Boat Show hosts the world premiere of Saxdor’s “little big sensation,” the 270. It’s everything you ever wanted…and more.

Saxdor announces the surprise launch of the 205

In September 2022 we introduced the 205. Certified for up to seven persons, Saxdor 205 enters the market offering several creative layout solutions. Features include the traditional one-level deck, foldable windshield and optional transom gates. Extra storage space offered by the compartment under the new console can be fitted as an optional toilet.
